Aashish's WorldWhat Are You Looking at? 16 febbraio Website DownHello All. I know this has been a very late post. But I have been trying to get my website up and running again. There are just a few things that are left to do but unfortunately we just got a new router and I have to change the settings on my server for which I haven't had the time off late. So for the time being my website might not work. And till I get that sorted my website is going to be redirected to this page. So have fun reading my blog here but keep in mind that I might not update this site very often. Thanks. Aashish. 17 novembre Movember Time Week 2Sorry once again people! I have really been very buys with work for the last week and didn't have any internet at home and hence I could not add a photo of my moustache! But here is a photo of me and this will be for week 2 and week 3. Take care people and there will be more to come. Aashish. 05 novembre Movember Time Aloha people! I am here again! Sorry I know it has been a long time since my last post, but this time I promise I will continue making regular posts once again. Well atleast for the 4 weeks in November which should be renamed to Movember for every man SHOULD grow a Mustache for a cause! Anyway I am, as always, being a part of this! So I shall be putting up pictures of myself for all to see my hard work at growing a beard. Mind you the goatee is completely different and I have been growing that for about 3 months now. So here is the first photo my good friends! And there will be more to come. Aashish. 17 gennaio New Year EntryHello people. Long time. Hope you all had a good New Year. And even if you didn't then I don't really care since mine was pretty boring as well. Anyway I thought I might bring this to light. I recently came across an article that really really surprised me. At first I thought it was just a joke until I saw the pictures. So you think you have a big TV at home? Well you have seen nothing if it isn't on this screen! Now that is a TV! And I know a friend of mine is getting some renovations done on his house. Well you might want to tell your dad about this monster for the new family room! Well that's it from me for the time being. I promise there will be a new entry soon about my brother's wedding. And this time I think I am just going to sit one day and finish the whole thing and publish it. So till then take care and have fun people. Tata mates tata. Aashish! 19 dicembre Hello Its Me!!!Hello All. Well since my phone hasn't been ringing all morning I can safely say that people have forgotten about my birthday! So let me just sing for myself 'Happy Birthday to Me'! And yes just in case people are wondering how old I am now. Well its officially 25. A quarter of a century and I can see myself getting old and losing hair already!;-) Well have fun people. Tata mate tata. Aashish!;-) 05 novembre Day 4Ok so there has been a very long break in between my entries about my exprience of a life time. And I have to say that I have a an absolutly amazing time not doing anything except working, sleeping, basically the whole package that is included in me being lazy and doing nothing at all. 30 ottobre Sorry for the delay.Ok so I did promise that there was going to be another entry about my experience at my brothers wedding. Now I do have a genuine excuse for not updating. And that is I am still trying to remember what happened next. I know that I said I would make up anything that I couldn't remember but when my brother and his wife are going to be reading it as well I might want to put in as much truth as possible to prevent myself from getting beaten up! And so I promise once again that I am definately going to have something by this weekend. Tata mate tata. Aashish! 23 ottobre Belated Diwali Wishes!Hello loyal followers of my blog. How's it all hanging? Well anyway I popped in to wish everyone out there a Happy Belated Diwali. I know I was supposed to do it before but then I had a lot of things to do over the weekend! I was also going write another installment about the Wedding Experience of a lifetime. But again I got distracted by so many things happening around me! But I do promise that I will definately the next installment up by the end of this week! So till then tata and have fun! Aashish! 17 ottobre Long Time Missing!Hello people, Firstly I would like to apologise for the really long lay off from continuing with my experience at my brother's wedding. I have had enough time to relax and get back to Australian time and also I am trying to be a bit less lazy these days. Its not as easy as it seems but then something has to be done. Secondly I would like to inform that I am going to continue with the story and pretty soon there will be another episode about the experience. Even though my memory is a bit scratchy after all this time but I will try to remember as much as possible and what I can't remember I will definately make it up!;-) Well take care and be sure to stay in touch. Later. Aashish! 22 settembre One More Sad NewsHello All. Sorry I am still working on the next entry for Indian Wedding blog, but I do have some important news to cover here. For all those Top Gear fans out there please spare a thought for Richard Hammond and his family. Richard was filming for the new series of Top Gear when the jet powered car he was driving had an accident. You can read the full coverage from the Top Gear website. He is still in the ICU but the doctors are optimistic about the recovery. I even got a call from a friend in England to tell me about the accident since he knows how much I love the show. Richard (Hamster) Hammond hope you get well soon and be back on Top Gear with your antics. I am very sure that Top Gear will never be the same without you. Aashish. 19 settembre Another blogHello people, By popular demand (3 being the number of people who read my blog) my experience about my brother's wedding I just attended in India. So stay in touch with my space and you will very soon find a humurous blog entry! Tata mates tata. Aashish. 12 settembre Amazing websiteHello people. Nothing much to report today but to tell you all about an amazing website that I found while looking an answer for the very famous question: "What were Heckel and Jeckel?". Well anyway without further delay I would like to present to you the website Toonopedia. This is a website that talks about cartoons watched by people worldwide. Its a great website and will definately bring a smile to your face. Tata. Aashish. 08 settembre Another sad newsHello people. I was just reading news on the internet when I came across this article. The headline of the article said it all "Peter Brock killed in crash". He was competing in the WA Targa rally. They don't know exactly how or what happened, but this is definately a sad day for Australian motorsport and a sad week for Australia. Well you shall be missed as much as Steve Irwin Peter Brock. Aashish. 06 settembre Delayed CommentHello people. Once again I have risen from being lazy and writing another blog just to entertain all you people out there. And as Mark stated yes my previous blog was just a cover up for me being lazy and not being bothered to write any more about my time at the wedding! Well I tried to chicken out of it but I guess there is someone out there reading my posts! Anyway there is some sad news and some really funny news. The sad news is that an Australian icon died 2 days ago. I know I am late in posting this and the whole world probably knows about it already. But its the thought that counts! Well R.I.P. Steve Irwin. Even though I didn't like watching your show, infact I despised the whole thing but I do truly believe that you will be missed at Australia Zoo. For the funny news Mark just sent me a link to an article in the Gold Coast Bulletin. Stag party in the sun. Some of the funny sections in the article (according to me) were: Lorraine said "About Christmas time I saw him, it was happy hour. I thought, 'Is that a deer? No, it can't be'. I thought I might have had too many,". I found this funny because I always love to see people say something like that for the whole world to read that they were drunk! Don't get me wrong for a lot of the people I know are also drunk around that time. Another funny section was "All the shop owners came out and watched it for a bit. Someone thought it was a dog but it was a very big dog." Now who in the world can look at a Stag and call it a Dog? C'mon a very big dog? Are you serious? Well go ahead and read the rest of the article. It is pretty funny, according to me. Take care and have fun people. Aashish! PS: Sorry Mark I had to steal the Steve Irwin picture from your blog. Couldn't be bothered searching for one over the vast World Wide Web. 04 settembre Not Happy!Well I have been told by a source that no one is reading my blog and that I am just wasting my energy and putting way too much strain on my brain to remember thnigs when no one cares about it. So unless I hear from you people that you want to read more about my one week holiday in a sauna I won't be publishing anymore.
Well tata.
Aashish! Day 3 of a Hectic Routine!Alright. So someone, not to mention his name so let's just call him "Mark Dinnen", has left a couple of comments. I would like to answer all those accusations! Yes we have a lot of hovering crafts in India. We are on the verge of having hovering cars and bikes soon! Even the cows have jet packs these days and hence you don't see them on the roads anymore! Man Australia is way behind in technology! This feels so backwards! When are you people going to catch up to us?
Now for the rest of the questions. The sweets are to hand out to family and friends on the day of the wedding or before the wedding. But I also think that was mostly a ploy to get my attention. You know the bright yellow B.A.S.I.C shirt that says "In wine there is wisdom, In beer there is strength, In water there is bacteria". Now for a man of your freakishly high IQ might not find that funny but for us normal people it is funny! And for the last but not the least question. My dad did ask me to take the alcohol! I was going to take some even if my dad didn't ask me, but a day before I was to leave I got a call from him telling what he actually wanted me to get. Now since that answers all your questions "Mark Dinnen" let met get back to my experience. For starters I would like to apologise for the delay in posting the next part. I have sincerely been busy being lazy and doing nothing over the weekend. So nothing much happened on Sunday the 20th of August besides us just going to Ambala Cantt for shopping. Skip a day ahead and on the morning of the 21st my brother finally gets into town! YIPPEE finally the groom gets into town with only 3 days before the marriage! For a second I thought he might not show up at all or might just be late and we might have the wedding with him wearing a jeans and a t-shirt! By the way since you were so concerned about me buying a dress, you should have seen the dress that my brother had to wear! Getting back on track my brother gets into town at 0500 in the morning and the first thing he does is wakes me up! Damn you! All I wanted to do was sleep and he woke me up on the only day when I could have actually slept in! So much for sleeping.
Nothing much happened after that except for my brother whinging and whining and everyone having to listen to him because it was his wedding. After lunch we all moved to Panchkulla (where the wedding was) to the hotel we had booked for the whole family. Got to Panchkulla safe and sound and had 5 rooms among 5 people. Sweet the only day when I could actually have a whole room to myself. Anyway my brother went to bed since he was tired and was enjoying being the guest of honour.
So later in the evening we went shopping again to Chandigarh but this time for my brother. And yes this was shopping for dresses! There we met up with my uncle and aunt who had just flown in from England. We went to a shop and were looking for dresses for him. And once they had decided a dress for him, I could feel a disturbance in the force. Suddenly I see all of them standing in the shop and staring at me. Aw crap not another set of clothes! And these would prove to be the dreadful pair as it will be explained in a later entry. This time it is my turn to whinge but to no avail and I am forced to get some clothes as well. Tell you one thing though, there is no point in whining in front of your parents and uncles and aunts once they have made up their minds!
Anyway we finally finish the shopping and then we head to our relatives' place for some dinner. I do have to say that I did sincerely enjoy that dinner a lot! It was one of the best dinners I have had in a long time. Around mid night and its time to head home and get some sleep. But its not another hour or two before I get to skeep. Another very early start the next day. This shall come, hopefully tomorrow if I get the time to write in another post.
Till then take care people and have fun.
Tata mate tata.
Aashish! 30 agosto On the Road Again!Day 2 - Saturday the 19th of August
Ok so the last time I left you (my loyal followers) with me just getting on the bus to get home in India. Now let me explain to you all how it all works in India. My town in India is actually divided to two. One is Ambala City and the other is Ambala cantt (about 5 kms away from the city) which happens to be on the highway and all the buses stop there. So the bus was supposed to drop me there at 0500 in the morning and I was supposed to call my parents from the way to tell them if the bus was running a bit late or on time. Unfortunately I couldn't do that since the only place where the bus stopped, mind you it was around 0300 in the morning, there wasn't any phone booth or anything. And I didn't even have a mobile to call them and tell them that the bus was infact running late and that I would get home without any problem and they could sleep.
Anyway when I got off around 0530 at the Ambala Cantt bus stop and I was surprised to see my dad and cousin waiting for my there. So we got home around 6 in the morning and by then I was truly tired and wanted to sleep. I knew this wouldn't happen again because in my family everyone starts waking up around that time and then there is a huge discussion and everything and no one can sleep no matter how hard they try! Once again I find myself not sleeping and somehow dragging my body around the house. But after sometime I really didn't feel that tired and could stay up for another day, which I actually did do. Now let me draw you a picture of our house in India. Infact we have two houses in the same city in a distance of less than 20 metres! One is my uncle's and the other is my Grandfather's (a huge mansion I call it). I don't know why there are two houses that close and I really couldn't be bothered asking about it. Around 0730 I went to my grandfather's place, two of my uncle's live there, and woke up my cousins. Now they couldn't say anything because first of all it is not very often when they get to see me and plus I am older than all of them! Woohoo I love being older!
After waking them all and having breakfast I was told what I was supposed to do for that day. Now in a wedding our family always has a sweet maker (couldn't find the right word for them) sitting to make sweets at home in front of them. I really don't know what is the difference between getting them made and buying from shops. My job for that day was to sit with the sweet makers and make sure that they had all the things they wanted and also make sure that everything was being made properly. "Great I would rather sit outside in the heat and watch the paint dry instead of watching someone make sweets" I think to myself! Anyway I go downstairs and sit with them and remember that I still have to go shopping for I don't have any clothes for the wedding.
I force my parents and cousin, because neither me nor my dad drives in India, to take me to Chandigarh (a major shopping city close to out place). Sweet I got out of my chores, but then rememberred that my mum did the same thing that any mum does. She put all my clothes in the wash exceot for the bright yellow B.A.S.I.C. t-shirt and the shorts that I was wearing. You might think that is fine but in India it is very very rare when you see someone wearing a yellow t-shirt with shorts walking around town. But I couldn't be bothered because I just wanted to get out of sitting and doing nothing. So we go to Chandigarh and it takes us about 2 hours to get there when it normally takes about an hour. Thank you for the fight between villagers and the police. When will they learn to live in peace?
Here we are in Chandigarh and all I can see is people staring at me where ever I go because like I said people don't see someone dressed like me. Alright I am shopping and I need to get something before my parents realise my plan of wanting to get out of the chores. So we head towards a big shop and look at the clothes and I get 3 pants, a shirt and a traditional Indian dress for only $150. Bargain. We do some more shopping and then it is 2115 in the evening and all the shops are closed.
Time for some dinner. We all head to a well known restaurent where first they wouldn't let me and my cousin get in because we were dressed like bums. But then with my mum and dad already in and waiting for us it didn't take us much to convince them that we were with them. Head in and sit at the table. We decide on the order but then the damn waiter doesn't show up! we had to call them 4 times before they showed up to take our order! Finally we order and then 30 minutes later we get the food. Till then my mum realised that the people sitting behind us were reading the back of my shirt and laughing! That kept us entertained till the time we got our meals. we finish our meal and ask for the bill because it was getting late and guess what, it takes them another 20 minutes to get the bill to us! We were actually thinking of just leaving the restaurent because they obviously didn't want us to pay for the dinner.
Anyway we are finally on the road again and heading home when we decide to take another way home. A bit longer but a lot less traffic because the bridge on the normal road was being repaired. On the alternate route home we ran into a traffic jam at 2315 in the night. We wait for 10 minutes and decide that we are going to take another way home. Yes there are about 4 different ways to get home from Chandigarh! Which is why I love India. No matter where you get stuck you can find another way to get around! we finally get home around mid night and now then I could finally sleep. Well about time. I had already hit the dizzy stage and the hysterical stage long time before that!
Well that was for day two. I know that you won't find this that interesting but then I did say that I would tell you about everything I went through for the wedding! But don't worry nothing much happened on day three because most of the places were closed and then on day four things started to change. So wait on for more updates.
Aashish! 29 agosto The Affairs of an Indian Wedding!Hello people! 28 agosto New BlogsHello people! As some of you know I was in India for the whole of last week. I hope all of you had a good time. Anyway I got back last night and I thought of putting up a detailed experience of everything that happened to me for the whole week! And this is all about how an Indian marriage is done. I assure you that it will be a very exciting read. So stay tuned for the experiences of a life time! Tata mate tata. Aashish. 27 luglio Hello from the land of the so called Melbourne!Hola Senora's and Senorita's of the world. After a much wanted and long break I am back into the world of blogging. And plus I have also almost finished my website! WOOHOO isn't that fantastic news now for everyone! Yes I know that it might be a bit slow but its not that I haven't tried! Its just that I couldn't be bothered fixing it up! Anyhow getting back to what I have been upto these past days! Well for a start I got a job in Melbourne! So I have been living and working in the absolute cold. And the only days when the sun does make an appearance I end up having to work indoors meaning I get no sun and just feel cold all the time!;-) Anyway so I had been looking for a place to stay for about 2 weeks and I finally found one. Its a nice little one bedroom appartment with everything including a backyard! Yeah I thought what's the big deal its only a backyard but then my friends explained it to me that not a lot of people have backyards and having one when you are renting is really cool! And all this means I can get free Chillies because there are about 3 little chilli trees there. I actually have a very interesting story to tell you all about my first few hours in the new house. But I won't speak of them now and will tell all of you at a later date! So yeah Melbourne is really very cold and living on the Gold Coast for the last 6 years has changed me completely. I never had to wake up early in the morning to find the temperature outside around 4 degrees! I got used to the nice sun and everything up there! I was on the Gold Coast over the weekend and being in the nice sun didn't really feel like coming back to Melbourne. But then I had to because the money and the job was calling me! Well this is all that I can talk about at the moment since I am sitting at work and writing this in the middle of the day! This time I promise that I shall talk to you soon. Till then take care n have fun people! Aashish!!!;-)
PS: The website address is http://aashish.no-ip.org/aashish/ 10 aprile Another Entry!Alright I think it is time for another update just so that my huge fan base can follow my movements for the last month and a half! So let's start with what has been happening since my last blog entry. Well for starters I and two friends moved to this new place and I really like it! It is like a mansion except without all those extra things like huge gates at the front, security cameras etc. etc. the useless things in a mansion. But then there was one thing that i didn't really like was the fact that the place was unfurnished! I know moving into a furnished place is really cool and nice but then it is really hard to find a furnished house that is not part of a residential complex or something! So anyway we went to the local auction house to look for things to get for the house; and you won't believe the bargains we got from this place! We actually bought 2 huge refrigerators which only cost us like $150 (when one of them was for just $10)! My friend and I couldn't believe it when we actually bought the thing for only $10! Besides that we got great deals on a lot of the other stuff as well but then I really can't be bothered talking about all the deals. Well anyway besides going out shopping for furniture and electrical goods we also had to get an internet connection. This is the one thing that I really wanted to get because I didn't had an internet connection for around 4 months now. And you don't know how frustrating it is for an IT graduate to not have an internet connection! So finally we get an internet connection only to find out that it will take anywhere between 2-21 days to get the broadband connected! I don't understand why does it take a person so long to flick a switch on their servers to let the broadband working! Damn lazy people. Tell you one thing though I would be perfect for the job for I am very lazy!;-) Anyway the did give us a dialup connection till the broadband was connected. But to be honest I haven't used a dialup connection for about 2 years now and this thing is really slow! I don't even understand why a connection this slow still exists. Alright so this is all that I can think of at the moment. I know I did promise everyone a website of my own. All I can say is that this time I really have been working on it only to have some really annoying error messages really thwarting (really impressed that I could remember this word!) the development process! So if anyone knows how to fix the problem of PHP5 not finding MySQL and hence not have it working please leave a message of how they fixed it! Any help would be much appreciated! Oh and FYI I still don't have a job yet! Could someone who needs a website built or someone looking for web programmers please hire me!!!! Aashish 24 febbraio A very late blog entryWell hello all once again. How is me fan base doing? I hope nothing bad has happened while I was away for this long! But I do have to say that I am really sorry for not completing my "Flight back home" story. I just didn't get motivated enough to complete the story. And now that I am motivated to add a new blog I just can't remember the flight back home anymore! Except one pretty strange/funny (think whatever you like) thing that happened to me at the New Delhi Airport. When I was going through customs and there I was asked where was I going to; to which I replied I was going to Brisbane. The next question is something that really shocked me! The lady at the counter then proceeds to ask me where is Brisbane? And I am thinking this is someone who works at the International Airport and they don't even know where Brisbane is! So that is all that I can think of from my flight back home.
Anywho so I graduated with my Masters degree just recently and I am really happy about it. But one thing that is really pissing me off is the number of rejections that I am getting! Bloody hell all I want is a job and noone seems to be ready to give me one! Why I ask why is there so much injustice in this world! I think there should be a job waiting for everyone as soon as they graduate from Uni, no matter how good or how bad they do!;-)
Well anyway the motivation has run away once again. So I hope I will be able to get another blog in shortly for all my fans or else you might just have to wait!
So till then take care people and have fun!
Aashish.
PS: I forgot to tell you all that I have started work on my own website. So that will come up shortly and the blog will come up as well! 18 gennaio Flight back home Part 1Alright so I am on the flight back from India and going back to Brisbane now. Yes the good ol' Gold Coast is beckoning my presence! So I am sitting at Singapore Airport once again but this time only for 5 hours and not the 13 hours that I spent the time when I was flying into India. But the flight till here was a bit strange and annoying. Firstly the flight took off late from New Delhi which meant spending a long time at the Airport where there was literally nothing to do. But then there were some really good looking girls that kept me on my toes all the while when I actually felt like sleeping. Infact that is something that kept me up on the plane as well where I was actually trying to sleep for once because there are no good movies on the plane. I just hope there are some good ones on the flight from here till Brisbane.
Alright that's it for the time being. I shall update this when I get to the Gold Coast.
So till then take care people and have fun!
Aashish. 03 gennaio Happy New Year!!!Hello People!!! How's it all going? Sorry for the really late New Year wish but then as you all know I am in India and hence not that accessible to a computer. So anyway to make everything really short hope you all had a really good New Year. I shall be in Australia around the 18th evening so I shall see all of you people around then!
So till then take care and have fun...
Aashish!!!;-) 19 dicembre Flight Update!Hello people once again. How's it all going? Well this post of mine, as the name suggests just deals with my flight horrors that I have had to endure till now! So let me start from the beginning and that is from the morning of the 17th when I woke up around 1000 (AEST). So then later on that day we were cleaning up the place for the whole party scene and hence started drinking around mid-day. That drinking session of our's only lasted for around only 13 hours. YES IT WAS A MARATHON! So anyway we got home sometime around 0700 (AEST) on the 18th; which is when I went to bed and onlyt had 3 hours of sleep. Then I had to pack up all my stuff and move it out of the house and what not. So I am doing fine for quite sometime till I start feeling a bit sick around 1700 and that was not nice. For that meant that I was going to get on the plane feeling a bit sick. Somehow I managed to pull out of that. Then I tried to fall asleep on the plane but I just couldn't even get a second of sleep. I don't know why and now that I am at the Singapore Airport the same thing is happen again. I am tired but I just can't sleep. To top all these things off I have another 6 hours to spend at the airport and 5 and a half hours of flying to do today before I can get home and just crash and not wake up for the next 3 days! Anyway my brain has stopped working now and hence I don't what else to tell you all. But I shall be in touch with you all shortly. Aashish.
